Jakarta Child Empowerment, Protection and Population Handling Agency (PPAPP) is committed to strengthen the effort of sexual harrasment prevention and handling, especially in public transportation.

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Mochammad Miftahulloh Tamary said his side collaborates with PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) by providing SAPA post in all Transjakarta corridor.
"The post is equipped with personnel who have been specially trained to handle complaints related to sexual harrasment and how to follow-up to relevant institutions," he said, Monday (1/20).
SAPA Mobile Eases Counseling Service for ResidentsThe agency also provides education for community through Communication, Information, and Education in form of video and poster played on Transjakarta armadas.
"The education is designed to raise awareness for public transportation users about the importance of preventing sexual harrasment. It also educates people the steps to take if they become a victim or witness the incident," he added.
Miftah explained the program is hoped to be a preventive effort to create a safe environment for public transport users.
"We want to ensure that Transjakarta is a
safe and comfort transportation especially for women and children," he explained.Furthermore, he invites the community to actively participate in preventing sexual harrasment by reporting the incident to SAPA Post or government's official complaint channels.
"All party's cooperation, including community, is important to prevent sexual harrasment in public transportation," he stated.
